Industry must be at the centre of this design and be deeply engaged in any skills and tertiary education governance bodies. How reforms are connected to industry will be critical to the way they translate into improved productivity.
Ai Group continues to engage with both government and opposition around the required policy settings to achieve greater tertiary harmonisation. The voice of employers in this process will be further enhanced through the Ministerial Advisory Board of JSA, to which I have been recently appointed, as an employer representative.
I would like to take this opportunity to recognise Ai Group's success at the recent Shaping Australia Awards, taking out the Judge's award in the Future Builder Award Category for the South Australian software engineering degree apprenticeship that Ai Group pioneered with the University of South Australia, BAE Systems, ASC, and Consunet. At the Centre for Education & Training, we are very proud of the contributions we have made in developing and driving higher and degree apprenticeships, and this award recognises the years of hard work many companies, education providers, governments and Ai Group have put into making this innovative qualification a reality.
And finally, I'm looking forward to the Centre's next webinar, where I will be joined by Ai Group member Lesley Marchioro, Executive General Manager of People and Culture, SAGE Automation and Deputy Chair of the Productivity Commission Prof. Alex Robson to discuss the topic of skills and productivity. Productivity is important, because it enables sustainable economic and income growth. It is also integral to maintaining and improving living standards and quality of life. More details are below, but you can register here.
